Information:
It is suspected, based on verbal accounts, that the motor had been rebuilt about 1,800 miles ago.
The brakes were replaced along with all wheel cylinders and master within the last 60 days.
There is some minor damage to the passenger side rear quarter and front quarter panels but again, very cosmetic. No major rust and no metal rotting present.
The original 24 volt electrical system is still in working condition and the rear red stop light is used in both tail-light assemblies even though originally it was only one.
The Jeep has all of it’s canvas and it is in good condition.
The tires are a mud and snow type all terrain tire on original rims and are in great condition or almost like new.
Transmission, transfer case and differentials all in good working order except that the parking brake shoes are removed but on order for replacement.
Over- all this is a highly complete original M38-A1 and would make an excellent combat ready driver and/or a good candidate for a complete body-on or frame off restoration due to it’s natural all military condition.
